World Cup Betting Tip: France and Belgium could require extra-time to decide first World Cup finalist

July 10, 2018
France vs Belgium Recommended Bet:
Match Result (90-minutes) – Draw @ 9/4 (3.25) with bet365*
New World Cup 2018 betting favourites France face their near neighbours (and second favourites) Belgium in World Cup 2018 semi-final action in St. Petersburg on Tuesday evening, with a place in Sunday’s final in Moscow against either England or Croatia at stake.
The clash between Les Bleus and the Red Devils has the makings of a potential classic. France have yet to totally convince during their time in Russia and doubts remain as to the tactical acumen of coach Didier Deschamps and whether he still knows his best starting XI, although the fact that they are in the semi-final indicates the quality within their ranks.

Belgium have won all five of their games in Russia to date, including a highly impressive 2-1 quarter-final victory over the then favourites for the trophy, Brazil. It was perhaps the first time that Belgium had justified the faith in them against one of the top soccer nations. Again, coach Roberto Martinez isn’t without his detractors, but the squad at Belgium’s disposal is arguably the best of all the 32 nations that started off the tournament almost a month ago.
The local derby element adds some extra spice to this clash, in which both teams possess some outstanding attacking talent. Although neither side is exactly wanting defensively, France can look to the likes of Antoine Griezmann, Kylian Mbappe and Olivier Giroud in attack, whilst Belgium have Romelu Lukaku, Eden Hazard and Kevin de Bruyne. It does suggest that there could be a few goals in this match.
Looking at the ‘Match Result & Both Teams to Score’ market, the 100/30 (4.33) on Draw and Yes (again, this bet relates to 90-minutes of regular play only) with bet365* looks a decent possibility.
A ‘Correct Score’ bet of 2-2 in 90-minutes could be worth a look at 14/1 (15.00) with Centrebet. If looking for ‘Anytime Goalscorer’ bets, then Kylian Mbappe has to be worth consideration as he looks to cement his position as the next global superstar of the game. He can be backed at 41/20 (3.05) with Unibet.
From a Belgium perspective, perhaps the best option in the ‘Anytime Goalscorer’ market is Eden Hazard at 33/10 (4.30), also with Unibet.
