Match Result – Sydney Roosters to Win @ 107/100 (2.07) with Unibet
Sydney Roosters welcome Wests Tigers to the Allianz Stadium on Sunday afternoon for a game between two teams who currently sit side-by-side in 7th and 8th positions respectively in the NRL premiership, but just four points off the league summit.
The Roosters come into this game on the back of a 34-14 victory at home to Gold Coast Titans last weekend, although they trailed at the interval before running in 28 unanswered points after the break.
The Tigers also had a come-from-behind win last week, seeing off Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs with a hard-fought 14-10 victory after trailing 10-4 at half-time.
The Roosters will be out to avenge their surprise 10-8 defeat by the Tigers in their season opener, although their cause certainly isn’t helped by the fact that they have Boyd Cordner, Dylan Napa, Latrell Mitchell and James Tedesco all on State of Origin duty.
The omens are encouraging for the Roosters in this game in that they have won their past nine games against the Tigers at Allianz Stadium and the Tigers haven’t tasted victory at the stadium in six years.
Sydney Roosters v Wests Tigers Team News
With four players on Origin duty, changes are necessary in the Roosters line-up. Blake Ferguson will move to fullback and Joey Manu will go to centre, with a new wing pairing of Daniel Tupou (back from a long-term pec injury) and debutant Matthew Ikuvalu.
Jared Waerea Hargreaves will start at prop and Victor Radley features in the second row alongside the returning Ryan Matterson, with Isaac Liu at lock and Frank-Paul Nuuausala being recalled on the bench.
The Tigers are unaffected by Origin call-ups and their only change is that hooker Jacob Liddle is out. Elijah Taylor moves to dummy half, with Matt Eisenhuth starting at lock and Tim Grant joining the bench.
Roosters v Tigers Betting Odds & Tip
Due to the Origin call-ups, the Tigers are actually narrow favourites with the online bookies in this game.
However, despite the absentees, Roosters’ coach Trent Robinson can still rely upon Luke Keary and Cooper Cronk and they still look to have sufficient quality to see off the visitors and a Roosters win at 107/100 (2.07) with Unibet looks a decent bet here.
