The New Zealand Warriors are up against the Sydney Roosters at the Mount Smart Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Warriors go into the weekend second in the Premiership table with 14 points from nine games following last week’s comprehensive 26-4 win at home to Wests Tigers.

The Roosters have still to hit top form this season, but just edged out Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles 22-20 last Sunday. It leaves them 6th in the table as one of seven teams on 10 points.

The teams have already met once this season back on Game Week 4, with the Warriors running out convincing 30-6 winners at the Allianz Stadium.  When the teams played at Mount Smart Stadium last season, the Warriors just scraped a 14-13 victory. The Warriors have won on each of the last four occasions the teams have met.

The Warriors have a number of injury issues going into the game, with Issac Luke dislocating his shoulder against the Tigers, while Shaun Johnson and Adam Blair both picked up ankle injuries.  Should the aforementioned trio miss out, there could be squad places for Karl Lawton (who scored two tries in Luke’s absence), Mason Lino, Albert Vete and Sam Cook. There is also the possibility that Gerard Beale could make his long-awaited return from a neck injury against the Roosters.

For their part, the Roosters are likely to make few changes against the Warriors, with Daniel Tupou (pectoral) being their only significant injury absentee.  Victor Radley impressed from the bench and could be in with a shout for a starting spot at lock.

The Warriors are favourites going into the game at 3/4 (1.75) with William Hill, with the Roosters available at 11/10 (2.10) with bet365.  The draw can be bet at 20/1 (21.00) with Centrebet for those that fancy an exceptionally tight encounter (the Warriors did require extra-time when winning at Central Coast Stadium two years ago).

This is likely to be close and the injury issues could sway it in favour of the Roosters. Backing the Roosters to win by 1-12 points is on offer at 21/10 (3.10) with bet365 and that looks worth an interest.
