BBL Finals in Sight for Both Teams
The Renegades are sitting second on the table with a 7-5 win-loss record thanks to back-to-back road wins over the Thunder and Perth Scorchers. On Jan 22, the Renegades beat the Thunder by 12 runs at Sydney’s Spotless Stadium. Renegades’ English import Harry Gurney was named player of the match with 2/27, while captain Aaron Finch scored 54 from 38.

The Thunder are sitting in fifth place with a 5-5-1 win-loss record, a half-game behind fourth-placed Melbourne Stars. This is a must-win game for the Thunder, who need to win two or three of their last three games to make the finals. They recorded their first road win for the season in Perth last week. They’ll be hoping to make it two road wins on the trot in their first visit to Melbourne in two years.

Renegades v Thunder Betting Tips
The Melbourne Renegades start a slight betting favourite, with Unibet paying 1.74 on the home team. Interestingly, the underdogs have won each of the Thunder’s last six completed matches, and therefore Thunder must be considered good value here at 2.10.
Aaron Finch has top scored for the Renegades in each of their past two matches against the Thunder. Palmerbet is paying 5.00 for him to be match top scorer and he’s a 7.00 favourite to be man of the match.
The Thunder’s Callum Ferguson is third in BBL batting this season with 341 runs. Ferguson scored an unbeaten 113 in the Thunder’s win over the Perth Scorchers last week. Bet365 is paying a generous 5.00 for Ferguson to be the Thunder’s top scorer in this match and 15.00 in man of the match betting.
