Paris Saint-Germain fans would have been delighted when they were drawn to play Manchester United in the UEFA Champion’s League’s last 16. They might be having second thoughts with Neymar among a number of PSG players ruled out through injury and United riding an 11-match unbeaten streak under caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Can United Return to Champs League Glory?

Solskjaer scored the winning goal when United won the Champions League in 1999. He was watching with his son from the comfort of their home in Norway when United was paired with PSG for this year’s last 16. A couple of days later, he got the call asking to take over as caretaker manager after Jose Mourinho’s sacking.

United have a great chance of beating PSG in the first leg at Old Trafford on Wednesday morning Australian time. The Parisians had already ruled out Neymar for both legs, and now striker Edinson Cavani and right-back Thomas Meunier are in doubt with a hip injury and concussion respectively. PSG manager Thomas Tuchel still has a very strong squad to choose from, with World Cup star Kylian Mbappe likely to cause United plenty of problems at the back.

One thing in United’s favour is PSG’s poor record against English sides in the Champions League. The French team has only one of seven games in England in the UCL including a 3-2 loss to Liverpool at Anfield in this year’s group stage.

Man United v PSG Betting Tips

Manchester United have won two and drawn one in the three Champions League matches they’ve started as favourites this season. Given their good run of form, we think they’ll show that Unibet was right to start them as 2.34 favourites in the head-to-head odds.

PSG scored 17 goals from six games in this year’s UCL group stage, while United’s forwards have been liberated under Solkjaer. There are sure to be goals at Old Trafford, and PalmerBet is paying 2.70 for four goals or more.
