Leading trainer Chris Waller goes into the Randwick Guineas double-handed with Sacred Falls and Tougher Than Ever.

Waller has already won the first Group One race of the Sydney Autumn Carnival successfully when he produced Shoot Out to successfully defend his Chipping Norton Stakes last weekend and has high hopes in the Guineas.

“They are both well,” the Rosehill trainer said.

“Tougher Than Ever is coming back to his own age group. We scratched Sacred Falls from his last start because it was a heavy track and I don’t think he handles it even though he won on slow in New Zealand.”

Formerly known as Warhorse in New Zealnd, Tougher Than Ever finished second to Alma’s Fury in the Group Two Apollo Stakes on February 23 while Sacred Falls has not raced since he finished midfield in the Royal Sovereign Stakes on February 16 won by Guineas favourite Rebel Dane.

Rebel Dane and Proisir head the betting market after finishing second and third behind Pierro in the Hobartville Stakes, Rebel Dane is $3 favourite with Proisir available at $3.40 at bet365. It’s A Dundeel is next in the betting at $8 with Sportsbet. Waller’s duo cab be backed at $12, bet365 offers those odds for Sacred Falls and Luxbet has Tougher Than Ever the same price.

Australian Guineas winner Ferlax is $15 at Sportingbet.au before you get down to the outsiders from $34 upwards.

The Group 1 Randwick Guineas is run over 1600m at Warwick Farm on Saturday and holds a purse $500,000.

Place a Fixed Odds or LuxDiv WIN bet on the Randwick Guineas and if your selection wins the race, Luxbet will give you a Bonus Bet equal to your stake up to $100.
