Online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au reports Rain Affair has been heavily backed to win the Warwick Farm’s Group 2 feature on Saturday.

A brilliant runaway winner of the Missile Stakes first up, Rain Affair has dominated betting, receiving 10-times the support of any other runner at $1.90.

“It’s been one way traffic for Rain Affair and the money just keeps coming for the gelding. He was well backed to win the Missile Stakes and punters obviously believe he can win again,” said the sportsbet.com.au’s spokesman, Ben Hawes.

The Joseph Pride-trained six-year-old has drawn barrier 13 which suits the front-runner’s style of racing as he doesn’t like to be drawn inside of other horses.

Despite Rain Affair being the clear pick by punters and race favourite, sportsbet.com.au will refund punters their bet on Saturday’s Warwick Stakes if their horse runs second to Rain Affair.

That will be good news to followers of trainer Guy Walter who has two runners that have been firming over the last couple of days. Second favourite Steama, to be ridden by Glen Boss, and Toydini have both attracted punters and Walter says he’s leaning towards the mare as the stable’s better chance.

“She’s quite forward fitness wise, and she puts herself anywhere in a race. She can be first, she can be last, and while I have a big opinion of Toydini, I’m leaning towards Streama,” said the trainer.
