NRL Betting Tip: Penrith Panthers worth backing for 1-12 points Winning Margin against Wests Tigers

Penrith Panthers are looking to extend their winning streak to 5 games against the Wests Tigers in search of a playoff spot.

Recommended bet: Winning Margin – Penrith Panthers by 1-12 points @ 21/10 (3.10) with Centrebet

The Penrith Panthers welcome the Wests Tigers to the Pepper Stadium on Sunday afternoon, with the Panthers on a four-match winning run coming into this game as they continue their charge for a play-off place.

The Panthers latest victory was a 16-8 win at home to Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs last weekend and leaves them just one place outside the top eight, but level on points with St. George Illawarra Dragons.

Wests Tigers may be just one place off the foot of the table, but they had a convincing 26-4 win themselves at Gold Coast Titans on their trip to the Robina Stadium a week ago.

In the head-to-head meetings between these two, the Panthers have won four of the last five, including a 36-2 drubbing of the Tigers at the Campbelltown Stadium in Game week 2 back in March.  That said, Tigers’ coach Ivan Cleary has a very decent record against his former club with seven wins from 11 matches as head coach whilst at the New Zealand Warriors.

With regards to team news, Panthers’ captain Matt Moylan has been named on the reserves list, where ongoing doubts over a hamstring injury mean there is no guarantee of his being able to force his way into the starting line-up.

Penrith have named Bryce Cartwright on the bench in place of Leilani Latu (broken jaw) and Dean Whare could potentially make a return after missing a month with the same injury.

Tigers’ boss Cleary has named the same 17 that hammered the Titans last weekend, with his squad featuring no fewer than five ex-Panthers.  In addition, coach Cleary will be taking on son Nathan and Kiwi international Dallin Watene-Zelezniak (Panthers) will be up against his brother Mal.

Unsurprisingly, the Panthers are strong favourites to win this game at a best price of 1/3 (1.33) with Unibet.  That’s not terribly appealing with the Tigers showing signs of life of late, so the better value looks to be backing the Panthers in the Winning Margin market.  Here you can back the Panthers to get home by 1-12 points at 21/10 (3.10) with Centrebet.
