Flemington Race 5 – All Victoria Sprint Series Final

There’s plenty of betting to be had before Race 5, but this is undoubtedly the feature race of the card and Sea Lord has attracted plenty of support for the 2013 renewal at 7.50 with IASBet. One potential drawback is the 60kg he has to contend with, but the market suggests punters are happy to back Sea Lord after a good run following a break in the Slickpix at Moonee valley.

Peter Moody’s Mr Make Believe will likely have a say at 8.00 if running to his best, but he shaped as if something was amiss last time and Riziz may be a safer option. At 2.90 Riziz is the market leader, this looks tougher than when winning in a competitive race at Swan Hill, but he was competitive two starts back in the Group One Goodwood and is more than capable of taking this with a reproduction of that effort.

Dee Bee Nine is racing well this campaign and shouldn’t be discounted at 12.00 along with Belfast Boy at 9.50 who was a winner in the Lawn Handicap here back in February.

Flemington Race 6 – Winter Championship Final

The Sprint Series Final result will have hardly sunk in when this lot jump off and The Cleaner will be well backed after landing the David Bourke Provincial Plate here a fortnight ago and looks the one to beat at 5.50 with IASBet, despite the 60kg burdon. Clanga’s Glory has over two lengths to find on The Cleaner after finishing fourth in that run and is available at 8.50 and usually does well at this distance.

Peter Moody is represented by Storm Burst who closed well last week and looks set for a big race at 7.00 while his other entrant Dayita can be backed at 11.00.

Another Prelate may go well with others conceding weight at 5.50, while Under The Hat can’t be ruled out at 7.50 along with Blackie at 10.00.
