Blues Bookies Favourites for Back to Back EPL Titles
July 19, 2015
The opening weekend of the English Premier League is less than a month away. Anticipation and excitement is building ahead of the first fixtures on August 8. And while there are still top transfers and super signings to be made; plenty of Future Markets for the 2015/16 Premier League are up! Bet365 have the current champions as favourites to lift the trophy again while new boys Watford are the shortest priced side to be relegated. So let’s take a look at some prices for finishing first, before checking out the odds to be in the bottom 3.
Who’ll be Champions?
Chelsea cruised to the title last season and are $2.50 with Bet365 to be top once more. The Blues are bidding to be the first club to win back to back since Manchester United in 2009. Speaking of the Red Devils, United are $6 to regain their status as England’s number one side. With a couple of big names still expected to arrive at Old Trafford, Man U’s price could drop before a ball’s been kicked. Their neighbours sit second on Bet365’s Outright Winner list, with Man City at $3.75 to regain the title having relinquished it to Chelsea last year. The Blue Moons are splashing the cash in a bid to get back to the top and the near 50 Million pound signing of Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling probably won’t be their final big buy.
Fa Cup winners Arsenal had a strong 2014/2015 campaign and could actually challenge for the silverware this season instead of just concentrating on finishing in the Champions League positions. At $5.50 to win the league for the first time since 2004; the Gunners sit third in betting, the same position they finished last season. Liverpool are paying $21 to triumph while Tottenham are at the biggest odds of the top 6. The Spurs are over $100.
Can the Newcomers Stay up?
Bet365 have installed Watford as $1.72 favourites to go down this season. The Hornets are the only team under even money. Other newcomers Norwich and Bournemouth are paying $2.10 and $2.20 respectively. Of those who were in the league last season, Sunderland is the lowest priced team to be relegated head to the Championship, the Black Cats are 3 bucks to drop to the Championship while Leicester are the only other club under $4.
Bet365 have multiple markets on the Premier League available. ‘Top Goalscorer,’ ‘Who’ll Finish in the Top 4,’ ‘The Best London Club,’ ‘To Finish in the Top Half and Bottom Half’ are just a few of many options to choose from. So check out the choices and get excited for the most entertaining football League in the world!
