Beautide Still Best InterDominion Pick At Sportsbet After Barrier Draw

Online bookmaker Sportsbet have still priced Beautide as favourite for this Sunday's InterDominion Grand Final race at Menagle, despite the fact he will run from barrier 12 in Sunday's race.

Long-time InterDominion Grand Final favourite Beautide remains in top position for Sunday’s race – despite being allocated in the second line during the barrier draw.

Although the Miricle Mile winner will run from barrier 12, Sportsbet have still priced him as 3.60 to reverse a surprising heat loss and win at Menagle this weekend.

Beautide was forced into the runners-up spot in Saturday’s heat by Seel N Print, who is priced at 81.00 to grab a second win this Sunday.

Smolder – who also lost in his heat to Addington – and Im Victorious are both the next best priced to triumph after Beautide, with odds of 5.50 available at Sportsbet. Smolder will go from barrier 8, while Im Victorious gained the plum draw for barrier 1.

Following the draw, Beautide’s trainer-driver James Rattray revealed his relief at drawing barrier 12 – after being drawn once all of the inside draws had been allocated.

Rattray told the Sydney Morning Herald: “When I went up there, it was probably the best gate that was left. There appears to be a lot of pace on the front row, so I should be able to follow through and get a good spot.”
